I took this netbook in part because it was advertised as an LED-backlit display and has been promoted as a "green" laptop. But after I bought it, I realized that this was anything but. I turned to find that she said the following. "Lamp contains mercury. Dispose of in accordance with applicable local and national." As we all know, the LEDs do not contain mercury, CCFL's do. So there you have it … written on the back of the Netbook - this laptop is CCFL backlit although advertised as LED backlighting. He also said that the manual handling of the cable are exposed to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm … lovely. I tried to ask Toshiba's "technical support" up and were useless .. could not even pronounce LED. Needless to say I returned as soon as possible.
